The safety, wellbeing and best interests of every child are paramount in all decisions, practices and interactions. We are committed to upholding children's rights, listening to their voices, promoting their agency and ensuring they actively participate in decisions that affect them. We foster a child-safe culture where every child is protected from harm and supported to develop confidence, resilience and a strong sense of belonging.
We welcome and value every child and family regardless of culture, language, identity, religion, gender, family structure, socioeconomic background or ability. We celebrate diversity and create an inclusive environment where equity, respect and dignity underpin all relationships and practices.
We recognise that children are capable, competent and resourceful learners. Through child-led and educator-supported experiences, we encourage curiosity, creativity, independence, problem-solving and healthy risk-taking. Our programs are responsive to children's interests, strengths and emerging ideas, supporting them to develop life skills and reach their full potential.
Positive, respectful and collaborative relationships are at the heart of our service. We work in partnership with families, educators, the school and the wider community, recognising that these relationships strengthen children's learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. Open communication, mutual respect and shared decision-making guide our interactions.
Our educators are committed to reflective practice, continuous improvement and professional learning. We implement the approved learning framework My Time, Our Place – Framework for School Age Care in Australia V2.0 to create meaningful opportunities that foster children's identity, connection, confidence, wellbeing and active participation in their communities.
At NBOOSH, we strive to create a welcoming environment where children from Kindergarten to Year 6 are supported to explore, learn, build friendships and enjoy their time in care. We provide a service that reflects our shared commitment to excellence, inclusion, respect and continuous improvement.

Child Safety

The safety, wellbeing and best interests of every child is paramount in all decisions, practices and interactions. Child safety is not a static, tick a box scenario, but involves a multi-faceted, ongoing approach, embedding it across all areas of our day-to-day operations. As a not-for-profit provider, we pride ourselves on providing quality service to our families, including staffing over the required ratio and minimising the use of agency staff to ensure continuity of care for children and families.
Child safety is embedded in our recruitment and onboarding processes, our planning, review, maintenance and assessment of the physical environment, in our implementation of active supervision and in the interactions we have every day.
